Spring Community Nature Programs offered by Green Valleys Association

You'll notice many new programs set for this season, including a Reptiles program and Spring Songs Night Hike, as well as some popular return programs, such as our Nocturnal Animal Hike and Campfire and various Kinder Nature Classes for young children and their favorite adults. These programs are held here at our headquarters of Welkinweir Arboretum, which offers 197-acres of forest, meadows, streams and other waterways, making learning fun and active. We'll also continue our free, family programs at the Phoenixville and Henrietta Hankin Libraries.

We hope you can join us for one, two or more of these programs this season.  Please see our flyer below.

Announcing ...  Girls on the Run at WVES

March 1st - May 15th
Mondays and Wednesdays 3:15  -  4:45

Girls on the Run and Girls on Track are after school programs that use the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Through fun, interactive activities such as running, playing games, and discussing important issues, participants learn how to celebrate being girls. The program focuses on building self-esteem and improving emotional and physical health. During the 11 week program, girls are empowered with a greater self-awareness, a sense of achievement and a foundation in team building to help them become strong, contented, and self-confident young women.
The program ends with the girls participating in the Kennett Run on May 15.

Boy Scout Troop 401

Boy Scout Troop 401 is looking for young men between the ages of 10 and 18 that would like to develop their leadership and outdoor skills. Our troop meets weekly at the West Vincent Township Building and routinely goes on camping, hiking and kayak trips.

Scouting is designed to supplement youth sports programs, not replace them. A scout can participate as much or as little as their schedule permits.

If you have already tried Cub Scouts and lost interest, then maybe Boy Scouts is for you. This program puts the youth in charge of the program and teaches them valuable life lessons. Program activities are age-appropriate for older scouts seeking more challenge and excitement.

Registrations can be taken year-round. We look forward to hearing from you.

For more information, please contact Mary Ellen Fogwell, mef@fogwell.com, 610-203-6666.

Look for our table at "Meet the Teacher Night" on September 22 and stop by for more information
