Vincent United FC

will hold a Winter Training Academy for current 9 and 10 year old girls. The Academy is geared toward players with at least one year of recreational or travel soccer experience.  The Academy goal is to teach more advanced skills and soccer techniques appropriate for this age group, while providing a fun learning experience.  This is a great opportunity for the serious soccer player to gain valuable skills development to prepare for spring tryouts.

The Academy will begin Tuesday January 10, 2012 and run for 8 consecutive weeks, Vincent United Club coaches, Joe Baccile, Joe Margusity, Craig Reed, and Rob Rooney, will be the primary trainers for the academy, assisted by high school age Vincent United players from our older club teams.

Please visit www.vincentunited.com to print a registration form and for more detailed information on the time and location of the Academy. Registration deadline is January 4, 2012.  The class will be capped at 16-18 participants.

Friends of 401 is a non-profit organization in West Vincent Township.  They are again sponsoring several area robotics teams. The program, FIRST Robotics ( www.usfirst.org ) offers a learning opportunity for students in grades K-12.  Thousands of students worldwide participate in this program. The students build and program autonomous robots that will compete against other local teams.  The basic robots are LEGO and the advanced are TETRIX.  One of our teams last year won the Pennsylvania Championship and competed in the St. Louis World Championship.
