K-Kids at West Vincent Elementary School Hold Book Donation Drive
to Benefit Pottstown Family Center
POTTSTOWN, PA, March 4, 2010 - The Kiwanis Kids (K-Kids), a student-led
community service committee, at West Vincent Elementary School (Owen J. Roberts School District) led a school-wide book donation
drive recently. In total, the K-Kids collected more than 1,100 books, which were donated to the Pottstown Family Center. "We
are so grateful to the K-Kids and the students at West Vincent Elementary School," said Jenn Brown, director of the Pottstown
Family Center. "Thanks to their generosity, our families can share in the gift of reading with their young children.
These books will be a wonderful addition to the Family Center's Parents As Teachers program and the Toy and Book Lending
Library." The Family Center's Parents As Teachers program assists parents in understanding their child's
development and encourages activities to promote healthy growth and development. The Toy and Book Lending Library is open
to families who are enrolled in the Family Center's programs and features children's books and activity toys, as well
as parent resource books. Established in 1993, the Pottstown Family Center offers support programs and services that
help families learn, grow and achieve self-sufficiency. For more than eight years, Family Services has served as the lead
agency of the Pottstown Family Center. The Pottstown Family Center is part of Family Services' Pottstown Office, 1976
East High Street, Pottstown. For more information on the Pottstown Family Center, please call 610-326-1610.
