will proudly be presenting
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
 March 19-20, 2010.

Written by Tim Rice and with music by Andrew Lloyd Weber, Joseph is the musical retelling of the tale of Jacob, his most favorite son Joseph to whom he gives the dreamcoat, and Joseph’s brothers seething with jealousy who sell him into slavery.  Experiencing other unfortunate incidents, Joseph nonetheless endures with his dream telling skills which escalate him to the position of Pharaoh’s second in command.  Meanwhile, his brothers had become victims of famine in Canaan and travel to Egypt where they grovel for food at Joseph’s feet, never recognizing their own brother.  After a bit of trickery Joseph reveals himself to his brothers and all are reunited when Jacob comes to Egypt where Joseph meets him in his chariot of gold.

An M&M Production, Joseph is directed and choreographed by Michael J. Hartman with producer and musical director, Sheila McIntyre (OJRHS Choral Director).  The all-music production will be highly modernized with a rock concert look and feel, spectacular costuming, dazzling choreography, fabulous singing, pageantry, colors, lights, etc. and promises to be a non-stop feast for the eyes and ears.  Audience members will want to see it more than once!  In addition to the all-star high school cast, the show also features a 20-member children’s choir comprised of four select students from each of the District’s five Elementary Centers.  The design of the dreamcoat is by OJRHS graduate, Justin Sloan (Class of 2005), who also designed costumes for the 2006 production of Seussical.  Technical and Lighting Design of the show is by Patrick McMullen.

Tickets are $12 for adults /$6 for students and senior citizens, and can be purchased by calling 610-469-5751 or e-mail to smcintyre@ojrsd.com.  Evening shows on 3/19 and 3/20 are at 7 pm.  There is also a matinee performance on 3/20 at 2 pm.
