     West Vincent Walking Club's

Walk Around the United States Challenge!

West Vincent is continuing the walking club as part of the OJR Wellness Program.  We are planning to restart the club on Monday, October 10, 2011.  All students will have an opportunity to walk a designated path during recess every day, weather and path conditions permitting.  The students will have a personal goal, as well as a school wide goal.  The progress for the school wide goal will be displayed on a bulletin board, and the student’s individual progress will be logged.  The students will receive charms and a bracelet for milestones, and plaques at the end of the program.

West Vincent walkers have walked 6834.85 miles to date.  My school goal for the students this year would be to make it back to West Vincent, with your help I think we can make it.

We are looking for volunteers to come in during recess to help monitor the students that participate and to log their laps.  The time frame would be from 10:40 to 12:40.  We will be filling the volunteer slots according to grade.  Volunteers can work more than one recess if they are available.

If you are interested in volunteering and have all the appropriate clearances on file in the main office, please fill out the form attached below.  Please select two grades and mark them as your first choice and second choice.  Also, please select the days that you are available to come in.

Thank you for your assistance!  Together we can all promote the benefits of walking and staying healthy to our students!
