WV PTA WEEKLY NEWS 9.29.19

HELLO WILDCATS!

My name is Jessica Neiderer and I will be taking over for Elly Hensman, coordinating Communications for the West Vincent PTA. We thank Elly for everything she has done to support the PTA and wish her family well in their next chapter.

WILDCAT WALK-A-THON

The Walk is just over 2 weeks away and we are super excited for the big event. Please be sure to mail your postcards soon! Funds raised will help us buy new playground equipment. Last Tuesday we reported that thanks to our very generous sponsors and families we have already collected $12,000.  If we are able to reach our first goal of $25,000, every student at WVE will be rewarded with a "night out" which includes a kid’s meal from Chick-fil-A, a bowling pass from Palace Bowling and a coupon for a free bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes. If we reach our $30,000 goal, Mr. Smith will be slimed! Be sure to check out the PTA Facebook page for more news about our many amazing prizes! Also please see the extensive list below of all of our wonderful sponsors, we couldn't do it without them, THANK YOU!!

READING INCENTIVE

We encourage all kids to participate in the PTA Reading Incentive Program. Have your child read 20 min. a day and log that time on the appropriate monthly calendar located at https://www.westvincentpta.org/reading-incentive.  At the end of the month (now) return it to their teacher and your reward will be delivered to them shortly!

FALL BOX TOP CHALLENGE

Congratulations to Ms. Johnson's 4th Grade class for turning in the most clipped and electronically scanned Box Tops!! Her class collected a whopping 721 box tops, 71 of which were scanned in through the new Box Tops app! Mrs Jardine's class came in 2nd place collecting 556 box tops! A big thank you also to Ms. Hertzog's and Mrs. Kulp's classes for also scanning in over 100 box tops purchases combined. Ms. Johnson's class will celebrate their success in the upcoming week with a Pretzel Party for all kids to enjoy! Thank you for all your hard work parents and students!  Keep clipping and scanning! The next Box Tops competition will be right around the corner.

Please have your child deliver the completed project and student entry form to Mrs. Storti directly and she will sign it in. This year’s theme of ‘Look Within’ inspires our students to look not only within their own imaginations but also within our world to come up with creative and artistic interpretations.
