Calling All Soccer Fans!

Do you like soccer?  Are you a Philly Union Soccer fan?  If so, we have a way you can see a game and raise money for WV PTA at the same time.  Anytime you purchase tickets to a Union home game between April 20 - June 8 using this link (https://groupmatics.events/group/Westvincent19) money will go back to WV PTA.  You can share this link with anyone you like.  List the student that referred you to the ticket sale and they can earn fun Union prizes.  See the attached flyer for specific details or contact Cindy Hutcheson for more info.

Freddy's Steakburgers Spirit Night - April 3, 4-8pm

Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers in Exton will be hosting our next West Vincent Spirit Night on April 3rd from 4p-8pm.  Show your support for West Vincent Elementary and enjoy a night off from making dinner!  Don't forget to mention to your cashier that you are part of WVES when going through the drive thru or dining inside.

Exciting Walk-a-Thon Update!

The PTA's number one fundraiser is the Walk-A-Thon and it is about three weeks away.  As of this week, $7,941.00 has been raised for the Walk-a-Thon but we have a long way to go if we want to reach our goals. 

Last year when we reached our goal, Mr. Smith endured having a cooler of sports drink dumped on his head.  This year, we decided to let the students, teachers and families decide his fate.  Over the past week, students and teachers came up with ideas if we reach our stretch Walk-a-Thon goal of $27,500.  Those ideas have been narrowed down to the top three ideas and now YOU get the chance to select the winner.

Remember, if we don't reach our goal, none of this will happen - so send those postcards and make your donations at www.westvincentpta.org.  The money raised will support the many PTA programs students and their families enjoy throughout the school year like assemblies, family fun nights, talent show, family directory, yearbook, after-school programs, author visits, all pro dads breakfasts and so much more!

2018 Wildcat Walk-a-Thon

The West Vincent Elementary PTA will host the 2nd Wildcat Walk-a-Thon on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 (rain date is October 19th).  This event combines fitness, fun and fundraising to encourage kids to help raise money to support the many PTA programs they and their families enjoy throughout the school year.

On the day of the event, all West Vincent students and staff will walk outside for 30 minutes.  They will be pumped up by music from a DJ, inspired to keep moving by motivational signs and treated to some fun surprises.  The student from each grade who has raised the most money by the day of the event, will be invited to lead the walk and hold the official Wildcat Walk-a-Thon banner with our mascot, Willie the Wildcat.   All walk participants will be eligible to win prizes.  A week after the walk, various raffle prizes will be awarded, and the top overall fundraiser and top fundraising class, will be awarded special prizes.  

If we reach our $20,000 goal, there will be a special surprise for ALL students. If we reach $27,500, we will get an even more amazing surprise. Last year our Principal, Mr. Smith, had a cooler of sports drink dumped on his head! And, of course, all students win because the money makes more programming possible!

Book Fair Signup

We can't believe that it's that time of the year already. It's Spring Book Fair 2018. This year, we are supporting summer reading with a BOGO event (buy one, get one at equal or lesser value). Please take a moment to read over the materials sent home with your child. One of the features we are offering this year is what is called "E-Wallet". Follow the directions for log-in provided and register your child for electronic payment. Insert their name and teacher, your credit card information along with the pre-determined amount you are allowing. If there is a remainder at the end of their purchase, it is credited back to your card without any processing fee. We hope this makes it easier for parents. Most importantly, in order for our book fairs to be a success, we require the help of our West Vincent parents! If you are interested and able to help, please click the provided sign-up genius link for available openings. Included in the information section is a link for you to view the teacher class sign-ups. PLEASE DO NOT make any adjustments or sign-ups in the teacher's link!!!! It is for VIEWING ONLY.  The teacher link is provided so that you can coordinate your volunteer time with your child's visit to the book fair.
